Jon Scheyer scores 36 to lead Duke past Gardner Webb

Jon Scheyer was red hot Tuesday night for Duke as they finally played another game after finishing up with finals and the first semester of school. Scheyer had career highs of 36 points and nine assists to lead No. 7 Duke past Gardner-Webb 113-68. Scheyer also added eight boards to come near a triple-double. Great geat from the point guard position!

Scheyer wasn’t the only player that had a great night however. Freshman Andre Dawkins scored 16 points. It was the first game for Andre in 1.5 weeks as he was away with his family after the tragic accident that took the life of his sister. We wish the Dawkins family well during these tough times.

Miles Plumlee and Brian Zoubek both had 13 points while Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith both chipped in with 11 points.

I know Gardner Webb aignt no North Carolina, but it was great to see the Blue Devils shoot the ball so well on offense and play pretty good defense as well.

The Blue Devils will be back in action on Saturday when they travel back to New York City to take on Gonzaga. This is a big game and a game that really give the Blue Devils some momentum as they get closer to ACC Conference play.
