Jon Scheyer rookie of the week for third time!

For the second straight week and third time this season Duke’s Jon Scheyer was selected ACC Rookie of the Week.

In earning the league’s Rookie of the Week Award for the third time this season, Scheyer averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds as the 18th-ranked Blue Devils claimed key road wins over Clemson and St. John’s. The Northbrook, Ill., product had 18 points, six rebounds and a steal in Thursday’s 71-66 win at Clemson. In Sunday’s 67-50 win at St. John’s, Scheyer had 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.

I think we will see Sheyer end up on the all ACC Freshman first team once the votes are all counted.  He has really helped out the team with his shooting and freethrows.  Give him another year and we just might have another JJ Redick!
