Duke wins the ACC Tournament!

Wahoo! The Duke Blue Devils won the ACC Tournament with a 79-69 victory over Tony Douglas and the Florida State Seminoles. The win was the 17th ACC Tournament Championship for the Blue Devils which tied them all time with North Carolina.

Jon Scheyer who scored 29 points in the championship was named the tournament mvp which I thought was kind of surprising. I thought Tony Douglas played great througout the entire tournament and had earned the MVP but I congratulate Scheyer on taking home the award.

Gerald Henderson poured in 27 points from the Blue Devils as he shot 9-17 from the floor. Super sophomore Kyle Singler added 14 points while Nolan Smith chipped in with six. Henderson and Singler were red hot in the first half as Duke broke out to an early 35-21 lead at half time. However early in the second half, they both went cold until the 12 minute mark when Coack K took a timeout and then it was all Duke from there.

I thought David McCLure played a great game as he grabbed five rebounds and kept the ball alive on multiple positions that turned into points later on in the possesion. McClure is kind of an unspoken guy on this team that you never really hear much about but he is a great role player and knows his role and does a great job with it.

Now we sit here for the next 2.5 hours and wait for the brackets to come out. Expect the Blue Devils to earn a number two seed and probably end up in Greensboro where North Carolina will also be with the #1 seed. We need the Blue Devils fans to buy as many tickets as they can if the team ends up in Greensboro. More fans there the better!
