Duke loses to NC State 85-80

It just wasn’t meant to be for the Duke Blue Devils tonight as they lost in overtime to the North Carolina State Wolfpack 85-80 in the opening round of the ACC Tournament.  Duke had won the tournament seven out of the last eight years.

Duke couldn’t hold off a hot shooting Brandon Costner who scored 30 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.  Engin Atsur could not miss in the second half as he scored 21 points all in the second half.

It was stupid tournovers once again that hurt Duke.  They could never really get going for a long amount of time during the game.  Despite having some decent offensive numbers from Paulus, Nelson, McRoberts and Pocious it wasn’t enough. 

The Blue Devils will now have to wait until Sunday to figure out what seed they get in the big tournament, and where they will be headed to play.
