In a very low scoring game compared to most games at Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Duke Blue Devils held off the Hoosiers 54-51. With the win Duke moved to 8-0 alltime in the ACC/Big10 Challenge.
DeMarcus Nelson was the sparkplug once again for Duke. Nelson had another strong game finishing with 19 points in 33 minutes. He scored a quick 13 points in the first 11 minutes of the game that gave Duke the lead going into the halftime intermission.
Josh McRoberts and D.J. White battled all night long and neither of them was very impressive. Both of them finished with 7 points in the game, but McRoberts did help his team out more getting them the ball and bringing the ball up the court when needed.
Greg Paulus still isn’t playing good fundamental basketball. I don’t know if Paulus is just having trouble coming back from his early season foot injury or if he just pressing too much. He is making bad decisions on passes, getting stupid fouls, and playing terrible defense that is sending him to the bench. Jon Scheyer handled the ball a lot last night, more then I would like to see. I would love too see Paulus get back into his game and Scheyer then playing the role that J.J. Redick did the past few years, moving off multiple screens and making some open shots.
Oh yeah, where was Brian Zoubek last night?
I’ll take it though, a win is a win and this Duke team needs all the wins they can get.
