Duke came out strong on Tuesday night as they defeated Georgia Southern 97-54 to move onto New York City in the Coaches Versus Cancer Classic. Once again it was Kyle Singler leading the way for the Blue Devils as he finished with a game high 19 points.
Starting point guard Nolan Smith had another good game as he finished with 13 points. Greag Paulus and Gerald Henderson both had better games as well as they both chipped in with 11 points each. Henderson was playing very athletic last night and if he continues to play like that him and Singler can carry this team very far.
Every player on the Duke roster scored except for Steve Johnson who did see five minutes of playing time in the game.
The Blue Devils cut down on their turnovers from their first game against Presbyterian as they only had 11 against Georgia Southern so that was another nice things to see.
Duke will now travel to New York City to continue play in the Coaches vs Cancer tournament and play November 20th at Madison Square Garden against an opponent that is unknown at this time. Before that game however they will have a home game against Rhode Island on November 16th.
