It was a rough game for the Duke down in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a tough game against Georgia Tech 71-67. The Blue Devils just couldn’t slow down the Yellow Jackets in the second half as they put up 42 points in the second half. The Duke defense did not show up and either did the offense.
Jon Scheyer took a couple of a bad shots late in the game as he tried to bring the Blue Devils back but he came up short with air balls. Scheyer did finish the game with a game high 25 points but the rest of the offense played like crap.
Freshman Mason Plumlee scored ten points but he was the only other player to score in double figures. Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith both chipped in with nine points each but if you asked them, they should have put the ball threw the bucket more then they did.
I wonder if Coack K will be more upset with how the defense or offense played. To be it is all about the defense as they didn’t lock down and play good d in the second half. The first loss in conference play is always a tough one, the Blue Devils will need rebound quickly as they got another tough game on Wednesday against Boston College.
Enjoy your weekend Duke fans.
