DeMarcus Nelson led the Duke Blue Devils to a 111-70 victory over the visting Albany Great Danes on Monday night. Nelson finished the game with 23 points as he caused tournovers that led to plenty of fast break points for the Blue Devils.
Jon Scheyer and Taylor King came off the bench and continued to put up great scoring numbers. Scheyer had 18 points, while King the sharp shooter from long range finished with 17 points. If the Blue Devils can continue bringing these players off the bench and have them be this productive, it will be a great year for the Duke Blue Devils!
Not too be outmatched, Brian Zoubek and Greg Paulus also finished in double figured. Zoubek had 13 points while Paulus chipped in with 11 points.
Kyle Singler, Gerald Henderson, and Nolan Smith all had eight points for the Blue Devils as well. You really have to love the spread out scoring by this Duke team. And the defense isn’t playing to shabby either!
The Blue Devils will have a tough matchup however on Thursday night. It will be their toughest opponent to date, as they will face off against 9th rated Pittsburgh. The game will be played at 7 p.m. eastern and will be played in New York City at Madison Square Garden. Hopefully the Blue Devils will come out strong and get up early to take the crowd out of the game and win the ballgame!

Could have used that 2nd timeout in OT at the end of the Pitt game, huh? Nothing like taking a timeout running the clock down to 15 seconds and then taking a second (and final) timeout in OT only to come up with 0 points on the possession. Ofcourse, I don’t expect Krzy to be upset with himself; as it appears he does not get excited about much of anything these days — Jamie Dixon moved more on the sidelines tonight than Krzy will move all year. I suppose he can still recruit though; Singler looks pretty good. As much as it pains me, I am predicting yet another bounce out in the Sweet 16 or earlier — status quo for Duke hoops these days in this, the third decade of the Krzy era.
