Without a dominate big man this team is not going to get past the Sweet 16 in my opinion. Zoubek is not the answer and shouldn’t even be playing. He has been in the program for years and has not improved like he needed to. (But hey, he can grow a beard).

The Plumlee brothers need to step up and do so without fouling. Smith, Scheyer and Singler need to knock down their shots but also get back and play some defense.

There is plenty of time left in the season to get things turned around. It’s not going to be easy, but it has to start on the defensive end of the court.

I do not understand why Duke loses quality players in 3 years or less. It seems it started back when Duke loss to Conn in the national championship – E Bland leaves. Then a whole list of others – Dunleavy, J Williams, Roberts and now Henderson.

On top of that Duke loses recruits after one year of play to another school. E Williams, T King, etc.

It seems to me the timing of these players leaving early really hurt the next year’s team.

What is the problem? Coack K’s selection process, the coaches communication of how hard Duke really is – academics and the demands of the bball?

Here another year of expectations is starting to fade quickly.
