An investment group that includes Christian Laettner and his former Duke teammate Brian Davis has reached an agreement to buy 70 percent of the Memphis Grizzlies. Laettner and Davis are putting up 40 million of their own money in the purchase.
There are rumors that Laettner would like to actually play for the team if possible. I don’t know how well that will sit with other owners and teammates. I would rather see Laettner just be part owner and try to get some better players on the Grizzlies roster. If he were to play, I think it would cause problems between players and management.

Former Duke star Jayson (Jay) Williams has signed a contract with his home state New Jersey Nets. The contract is not guranteed and pretty much just invites Williams to the Nets training camp. Great news for Jay everyone is pushing for him. What an accomplishment it would be for him to make a NBA roster after his accident. We are all rooting for you Jayson, keep up the hard work.
