Jon Scheyer was red hot Tuesday night for Duke as they finally played another game after finishing up with finals and the first semester of school. Scheyer had career highs of 36 points and nine assists to lead No. 7 Duke past Gardner-Webb 113-68. Scheyer also added eight boards to come near a triple-double. Great geat from the point guard position!
Scheyer wasn’t the only player that had a great night however. Freshman Andre Dawkins scored 16 points. It was the first game for Andre in 1.5 weeks as he was away with his family after the tragic accident that took the life of his sister. We wish the Dawkins family well during these tough times.
Miles Plumlee and Brian Zoubek both had 13 points while Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith both chipped in with 11 points.
I know Gardner Webb aignt no North Carolina, but it was great to see the Blue Devils shoot the ball so well on offense and play pretty good defense as well.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on Saturday when they travel back to New York City to take on Gonzaga. This is a big game and a game that really give the Blue Devils some momentum as they get closer to ACC Conference play.

Duke has lost it’s first game in the Big10/ACC Challenge as they lost in Madison on Wednesday night. Duke was playing from behind the entire game and was down by double digits quite often. They made things interested late in the game thanks to three pointers from Andre Dawkins but with under a minute they were unable to score the big bucket that that they needed to and lost 73-69.
Duke had a very hard time slowing down Wisconsin player Trevon Hughes who scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half. Kyle Singler was the opposite as he scored 17 of his 28 points in the firt half to lead the Blue Devils.
Dawkins chipped in with 12 points for Duke all on three pointers.
Duke won’t have time to think about this game as they have another big game on Saturday against St. Johns. St. Johns will be coming into Cameron with a 6-0 record and will be looking to knock off the Blue Devils. I think Duke bounces back and picks up a victory.
