What a great night it was at Cameron Indoor Stadium last night as the Blue Devils knocked off Boston College 75-61. It was also a special night for Sheldon Williams as he had his #23 retired and hung up in the rafters to join all the other Duke greats!
Josh McRoberts had a great game for Duke, he finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. You could really tell that McRoberts was agressive in his gameplay as he took the ball to the basket on many occasions. He also played with foul trouble most of the second half because of that agressive play.
DeMarcus Nelson led the team in points with 17 and also had 8 rebounds. He really helped the team out in the last two minutes of the first half when Duke went on a quick 8-1 run to lead by 8 at halftime.
We will have to keep an eye on David McClure has he went down in the second-half with a right knee injury. It looked to be a hyper-extension but there has been no official statement about it. We can only hope it is a minor injury and David will be back out on the court soon!

David McClure had a game he won’t forget for a very long time as he scored the game winner with under half a second to go tonight against Clemson. After a terrible inbound pass from Josh McRoberts that allowed Clemson to hit a wide open three that tied the game, McClure received a great pass from freshman Jon Scheyer and layed it in with under half a second left in the game. McClure finished with eight points on the night.
McRoberts had a game high 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Greg Paulus and DeMarcus Nelson had 13 points each. Jon Scheyer, despite a bad shooting night finished with 12 points.
With the 68-66 win, Duke improves to 4-2 in the conference and 17-3 overall. Their next game will be against Boston College on Sunday.

Wow what a great game by the guys today. Jon Scheyer lead the Blue Devils to a 79-56 win over the Wolfpack. It was nice to see Duke win a conference road game in this fashion. Five different players finished in double figures so the ball was getting spread around, and the shots were going down!
Sharpshooter Jon Scheyer once again lead the team in scoring as he had 20 points today. Stud DeMarcus Nelson finished with 15 points and played a great overall game. Greg Paulus also had another great game and finished with 13 points. Josh McRoberts was right there with Paulus scoring 13 points and also had some great assists and played great defense. We can’t leave out scrappy David McClure who tallied up 10 points and hustled like he always does.
The defense foced multiple tournovers that lead to easy baskets for the Blue Devil offense. It was almost like watching an older Duke team out there today and it was a lot of fun! Lets hope the confidence and momentum carries over into their next game!

Greg Paulus had a great game tonight leading the Blue Devils past Wake Forest 62-40 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The sophomore point guard finished with 17 points with most of the coming from long range. He also cut down on his tournovers, which really helped the team.
The Blue Devils (15-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) have won two straight since consecutive league losses to Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.
It was the stingy Duke defense that controlled this game, Wake Forest came into the game averaging over 70 points a game and were held to their lowest total of the season.

Duke (ranked 14th in the AP Poll) and Wake Forest (unranked) are ready to battle tonight at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Tip-off for the game is at 7:02 eastern time and the game will be televised on espn2.
Duke is coming off their first ACC win of the year as they defeated Miami on Sunday 85-63. It is going to take another great game tonight by Jon Scheyer and Greg Paulus if the Dukies plan on beating Wake Forest. As I have said before, I think this team will win if Paulus plays good, if Paulus has a bad game then Duke will lose.
My Prediction: Duke 69 Wake 65

The Duke Basketball team got back on the winning ways yesterday with a nice dominating game against the Miami Hurricanes in Coral Gables. They came out strong from the get go and never looked back beating the Hurricanes 85-63.
Shots were falling and players were making plays like we have seen from other Duke teams. Could this be the game that jumpstarts the Dukies to make a nice run in the ACC?
Jon Scheyer led the team with a career high 25 points.  Eleven of those points coming from the free-throw line. Point guard Greg Paulus chipped in with 15 points which really helped as well. Then there was Nelson shooting 7-for-8 from the field for his 14 points and David McClure coming off the bench to score eight points and grab 11 rebounds.

This isn’t the way that Coack K imagined his team starting out ACC Conference play. The Dukies are 0-2 with two bad loses to Virgina Tech and Georgia Tech. I’m not going to get into the stats on last nights game, as it was pretty bad I don’t want to go back and look at them.
One thing I know is that Greg Paulus has got to step up his game. He has to be the leader of this Duke team. The point guard makes the offense run and that is his job. He needs to get his confidence back and go out there and play Duke Basketball. I really believe as Paulus goes, Duke goes this year.
Another reason why Paulus has to step his game up is this. We can’t have sharp shooter Jon Scheyer running the point 60% of the time. He is a shooter and he needs the point guard to get him the ball so he can score some buckets for the team.
Everyone from the players to the coaching staff need to step up there game. Play some good defenese to stop the guards from getting to the basket, rebound the basketball, and make some wide open shots. This team does not have the player that can put the entire team on his back and lead them to victory like we had last year with JJ and Sheldon. It has to be a team that does it this year. What will Coach K do? Lets here your comments

Coming off home lose against Virgina Tech, Duke now faces their first true road game of the year at hostile Georgia Tech. You have to know that the Yellow Jackets and their fans will be pumped up for this game. It is not very often when you know you have a good shot and beating the Devils, but this could be the year that it happens.
Georgia Tech is coming off a tough one point loss to Clemson where they were beat 75-74. This is going to be a bigtime ACC battle so make sure you tune into ESPN at 7 eastern.
