Former Dukie Grant Hill says he is ready to go for the season opener with the Orlando Magic. Hill who has batteled injury after injury in his NBA career says he is feeling the best he has in a very long time. He showed people that he can duke under the basket off one leg, and he did it with both his right and left legs. His ankle finally appears to be healthy, now we will have to see if it holds up for an entire season.
The Magic are also closer to activating J.J. Redick of the injured list as he recovers from a left foot injury. Expect that to happen in the next week or two at the latest.

Seven footer Brian Zoubek stole the show at the Blue - White scrimmage yesterday. The freshman finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds for the victorious Blue team. The other freshman also did pretty good, Jon Scheyer had 5 assists, Gerald Henderson and Lance Thomas also finished in double figure points.
Look for Coach K to to use a big lineup at times this season with Zoubek, McRoberts, and Thomas all on the court. We haven’t seen the Blue Devils use a big lineup like that in a long time so it will be fun to watch.

Kyle Singler is expected to commit to the Duke Blue Devils tomorrow during a press conference at his high school. We have been blogging about Singler for a while now and told everyone that he was a very strong lean towards Duke. Hopefully he makes that official tomorrow!
Go Duke!

Kyle Singler could be the next big-name prospect to announce for an Atlantic Coast Conference school. Ranked No. 5 among the country’s high school seniors by prepstars.com, the 6-foot-9 forward is leaning toward Duke over Kansas and Arizona.
Singler, who is from Medford (Ore.) High School, recently eliminated UCLA. He reportedly will make a commitment before November.
It will be an interesting few weeks and I’ve heard for multiple sources that Singler is indeed a big lean towards the Blue Devils. This is great news for Duke Fans! Another stud looks to be headed to the program.

Coack K has been very pleased at how well Jon Scheyer has been practicing at point guard. Scheyer will be called upon to be the floor general as Greg Paulus is out with a foot injury for another 3-4 weeks. Scheyer can bring the ball up the coart and run the offense pretty well and the Duke players are gaining more confidence in him every day from report out of Durham.
Josh McRoberts will also help with some of the ball handling. You might be asking why would a center be bringing the ball up the coart? Well McRoberts has shown his great ball handling skills, and he will use that ability to bring the opposing teams center away from the basket to open up the paint for other Duke players.
We will all get to see how well the point guard play is on Saturday when the Blue Devils have their blue / white scrimmage. If you still need tickets to the scrimmage we do have some available here.
Looking for Duke Basketball Tickets? You just got lucky as we have tickets every home and away game and I’m not talking just nosebleed seats, we got the center coart, floor action seats! Get them before they are gone! Duke Basketball is hot, and so are their tickets!

Former Duke star Jay Williams has been released by the New Jersey Nets this morning. Tough luck for Williams as he is trying to land a roster spot on a NBA team after recovering from his motorcycle wreck.
Williams, who signed with the Nets on September 28, 2006, appeared in five preseason games, averaging 3.8 ppg in 13.2 minutes per contest.

Duke has been picked to finish second in the ACC this season in the preseason poll that was announced today. North Carolina is the front runner with out a doubt and it should be another great ACC conference year.
Josh McRoberts was also named to the first team All ACC team. Congrats Josh, lets go Duke!

Former Duke point guard Chris Duhon is ready to roll in his third NBA season for the Chicago Bulls. Duhon feels healthy after having off-season back surgery to fix the pain he played through all of last season. We wish Mr. Duhon all the best, and hope he has a great season for the Bulls.

ChicagoSports.Com posted a pretty good article about Jon Scheyer being at Duke and how different it is for him right now compared to going to school in North Glenbrook. Here is a link to the article.
